Our Doctors

Dr. Jabina Ramde, O.D.

Dr. Jabina Ramde started  her practice at Eye Lite Optometry in Los Altos in 1999. She received bachelors degree in Biology from the UCLA and Doctor of Optometry degree from the UC Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry. She received certification in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases and glaucoma. She completed her externship programs at the Livermore VA Hospital, Oakland VA Hospital, and Omni Eye Specialists in Baltimoare, Maryland. She has experience in refractive surgery from her work at Advance Eye Medical Group in Mission Viejo, CA.  She enjoys working with patients that have had difficulty being fitted with contact lenses (astigmatism, bifocal lenses), and with young patients for myopia control and corneal refractive therapy. 

Dr. Ramde strives to provide compassionate health care to underprivileged communities locally and abroad. She works with the local Los Altos/Mountain View school PTA to provide free eye examination and eyeglasses for kids. She is an active member of the Santa Clara County Optometry Society and has served as a Trustee of Professional Affair since 2012 to 2014.

She is a proud mom of three girls. She enjoys cooking for her friends and family, yoga and traveling in her free time. 


Dr. Audrey Chu, O.D.

Dr. Audrey Chu was born and raised in Los Altos. She attended Homestead High School and subsequently graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a dual degree in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology and Psychology. Her passion for patient care led her to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.

Dr. Chu practices the full-scope of optometry including specialty contact lenses and myopia control. Her training includes internships at VA Fresno, Vision One Optometry, Boston Medical Center, Perkins School for the Blind, New England Eye Institute, and DotHouse Community Health Center. 

During her spare time, Dr. Chu enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, hiking, and eating all the delicious food in the Bay Area.


Dr. Yujia Zhang, O.D

Dr. Yujia Zhang is a south bay native who is beyond elated to be back serving the community she grew up in. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, she went on to pursue her doctorate of optometry degree at UC Berkeley's School of Optometry. During her training, she completed rotations through VA Puget Sound, Marin Community Clinics, UCSF Proctor Institution as well as Berkeley Eye Center's specialty and primary care clinics. Dr. Zhang practices full-scope optometry and is TPA certified to manage various ocular conditions including glaucoma. She has a special interest in myopia control and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. 

​Outside of work, Dr. Zhang enjoys exploring the bay with her partner and spending time with friends and family. Her hobbies include photography, traveling, and downloading more books to her kindle than she can read. 


Dr. Barbara Bell, O.D.

Dr. Bell was born and raised in Slovakia. She moved to Los Altos in 1993 and has lived in Los Gatos since 1999.  She has earned her B.S. in Biology from Santa Clara University and subsequently received her doctorate from University of California Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry. 

​Dr. Bell owned her own practice in Los Gatos for 11 years. She now looks forward to providing excellent care at Eye Lite Optometry. Dr. Bell’s passion for her work is apparent to all patients who enter her exam room. She loves taking care of all ages of patients with many different ocular and optical needs. However, she especially enjoys taking care of pediatric patients, glaucoma patients, and patient with autoimmune diseases. 

​Dr. Bell is a mom to 2 sons. In her free time she enjoys many hobbies including skiing, hiking, cooking, reading, traveling and studying history.  


Dr. Kathleen Shen, O.D.

Dr. Kathleen Shen received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley, School of Optometry. Her hospital based training included work at the Veterans Administration hospital in Sacramento and Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco.

Dr. Shen was recognized by Bausch & Lomb for exceptional clinical potential in contact lenses. She also received the Frederick W. Brock binocular vision thesis award. She volunteered with the Project Eyes Mission and Life Hope Centers in Mountain View. Dr. Shen lives in Los Altos and is the mother of two children.

Outside of her work she enjoys hiking in the hills and enjoys board games with friends. Her favorite game is The Crew.
